JOB PURPOSE

 

  • To deliver nationally accredited courses to KS2 – KS4 (up to level 2) students.
  • To liaise with the Head Teacher, other teachers, and mainstream providers and appropriate exam boards.
  • To support Eton Dorney Specialist School vision and ethos.
  • To support principles of ECM.

DESIGNATION OF POST AND POSITION WITHIN DEPARTMENTAL STRUCTURE

To be responsible to the Head Teacher and wider management structures within the company.

  • To work with the Lead Teacher and SENCo.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Working under the direction and supervision of the lead teacher and head of Education to:

Teaching and Learning:

  • To support the Head Teacher to establish, develop, monitor and evaluate the curriculum i.e. long, medium and short-term plans according to generic planning documentation.
  • To take responsibility for advising on exam entries, and the administration of the exam board procedures.
  • To identify the appropriate level / type of exam entry for individual students and focus specifically on transition, KS2, and the GCSE borderline etc.
  • Providing, where appropriate advice and training on delivery of the subject within KS2 – KS4.
  • Maintaining curriculum files for the subject.
  • Identify any training needs that exist for development of the subject.
  • To provide information as required for the annual self-evaluation / reports to Management Board of teaching and learning within Eton Dorney School.

Planning, Assessing and Reporting:

  • To liaise with other providers / teachers – e.g. mainstream schools, special schools to ensure that continuity and progression is taking place within Eton Dorney School in line with local provision.
  • To deliver the subject and contribute to the monitoring of the curriculum through self-evaluation, peer observations, analysis of entry profiles / outturns results etc.
  • To contribute to an annual subject ‘Action Plan’ and contribute to the unit and service development plans, both in planning, and monitoring and evaluating.
  • To report on student progress as required by the Head Teacher / Eton Dorney School systems.
  • To provide advice to the Head Teacher on the use of existing materials and resources and to plan, identify and order new resources required to deliver the curriculum.
  • To organise the storage of resources and monitor the relevance and sufficiency of resources within Eton Dorney School.

  • To be aware of, and have due regard for the policies, procedures and guidance set out in the Eton Dorney School Handbook.
  • To advise on and have due regard for Health and Safety issues and Risk Assessment procedures within the subject area, and to attend appropriate training.
  • To be aware of Child Protection/ Safeguarding procedures and attend appropriate Level 1 training
  • Attending relevant in-service training and review relevant educational journals and DfE initiatives and disseminate information as appropriate to ensure that continuity and progression is taking place within Eton Dorney School in line with national guidelines.

JOB PURPOSE

  • To provide healthy, balanced and nutritional meals for pupils
  • To plan menus according to a fixed budget, following guidelines on nutrition and healthy eating
  • To order supplies based on budget set and manage existing supplies
  • To set up and develop relationships with food suppliers
  • To liaise with the Head Teacher to ensure catering needs of the school are met.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To prepare, cook and serve meals daily for pupils at a small, independent, specialist school.
  • To plan a menu for each week using a set budget. Menu planning will include considering ingredients needed, cooking methods, appropriate portion sizes and selling prices.
  • To keep a record of all supplies and monitor use of supplies. To maintain appropriate stock levels and complete regular stock checks.
  • To meet statutory requirements for Ofsted and Local Hygiene Systems. A knowledge of HACCP is desired.
  • To promote a positive approach to Health and Safety in the delivery of catering at Eton Dorney School. This should include ensuring the School’s Health and Safety Policy is adhered to, in addition to Health and Safety legislation.
